Staying At Best Western Plus
White Bear Lake, Minnesota
The Best Western Plus White Bear Country Inn has a very long name, but provides an excellent stay experience. Bailey and I stayed three nights in this room that was supposed to be booked as a single king bed, but we were given two twin beds instead. We stayed Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday nights.
The desk area came in very handy to get some work done and to book our Airbnb for Winnipeg beginning on Thursday. The shower was pretty nice and the stay overall was comfortable.
Rudy’s Redeye Grill
Attached to the hotel is a restaurant called, Rudy’s Redeye Grill. It’s a bit more upscale than Bailey and I would typically eat at. We shared a couple dinner plates, one being the Ravioli that I can’t quite remember the details of, such as what the ravioli was filled with and what meat was included. The other plate being the Meatloaf dinner with sweet potato hash and green beans.
White Bear Lake
This is not Bailey and my’s first visit to White Bear Lake, Minnesota. The first time ‘round, gave us very different weather. This time, we visited at the end of October and were lucky enough to enjoy peak fall foliage in the area. I love how White Bear Lake seems to remain a small town with small town vibes and features, all while sitting in a large metropolis.

The local White Bear Lake bookstore is one worth visiting. I love the selection along with the atmosphere.
West Park Memorial Beach
West Park Memorial Beach is a park in White Bear Lake, Minnesota that I am no stranger to. I did not realize until I got within view of the water, but my first trip to Minnesota with Bailey, this was the beach that we took my sister to. It was much warmer our first visit and much busier, but I think I prefer it this way.
Winnipeg Jets @ Minnesota Wild
This trip came to be due to a work trip for Bailey. Since it happened to fall during a time that our favorite NHL team—the Winnipeg Jets—were playing the Minnesota Wild, I tagged along. Being the whole reason I was even on the trip, I am pretty happy with the result of the game. The Jets picked up a big overtime win against the Wild.
